CALVIN Dinsley said scoring Hereford's goal against Fleetwood Town in the FA Cup made all the hours in rehab worthwhile.

The midfielder has had an injury-plagued season for the Bulls and had to come off in both the previous two rounds.

And he only got his chance in the second round match at Fleetwood due to Rob Purdie being injured in the warm-up.

“I’ve had a tough time for the last couple of months," said Dinsley/

“It’s been a really frustrating.

“I got injured in the last two rounds, but that is why you keep working hard and keep believing.

“I’ve worked hard in the past four weeks just to get into contention for this game and it makes all the hours of doing your rehab worthwhile."

Dinsley's goal came in the 23rd minute.

“Keyon [Reffell} rolled it to me and it’s lucky that I connected with it nicely and it’s curled away from the goalkeeper," explained Dinsley.

“If it was up to me, I would have run the length of the field.

“That’s my first goal of the season and I’m just buzzing for the whole team and the fans – it’s a really good day..

Fleetwood equalised within six minutes and Dinsley was disappointed with how the goal came about.

“I’ve tried to clip one in behind when I could have played it simple and we were all out of position," he said.

“The goal was a little bit fortunate and it was disappointing.

“We spoke at half time about keeping our shape better and making better choices on the ball.

“But we were happy to go in at 1-1 at half time because we had a chance."

Dinsley knows that Hereford will have to perform really well again in the replay to reach the third round and potentially face one of the big boys.

“It’s another big game to look forward to and we know we’ve got to be at it to even compete again and I am sure we will be," he said.
