FORMER Leominster Town manager Sam Bowen is the new boss at Kington.

Bowen, who is the father of Hull City player Jarrod Bowen, replaces Stuart Jones at Mill Street.

Jones was only named as sole manager of Kington last week after fellow joint-manager James Edmonds stood down.

Kington are third from bottom in West Midlands (Regional) League Division One having lost 10 of their 12 games. 

"Kington Town can announce that following a meeting of the club committee that they have parted company with first team manager Stuart Jones," reads a club statement.

"The club would like to thank Stu for all his hard work over the past 13 months and wish him well in his future endeavours.

"He will be replaced as first team manager by the vastly experienced Sam Bowen, who has previously managed Leominster Town.

"A former Forest Green Rovers striker, Sam has a wealth of football knowledge and featured for the reserve team in recent weeks.

"The club are delighted to bring in Sam as manager and hope for a successful future under his leadership which the committee feel will benefit the club at all levels."
