HEREFORD centre-half Mark Preece said he couldn't turn down the chance carry on playing for the club.

The former Chippenham Town defender took his time in deciding to stay with the Bulls due to the amount of extra travelling there will be next season.

But he says he has bought into what the management team are trying to do which made up his mind.

"I dropped down a league last season because of the added travelling, but I have bought into what Beads is trying to do here and it's a great club so I want to carry on," said Preece, who scored for Hereford in their pre-season friendly defeat to Cardiff City.

"I enjoyed it last year so it's something I couldn't really turn down.

"I just had to look at options to make sure everything could work."

Hereford are quite thin in the centre-half positions, but Preece believes new signing Jack Deaman is a great addition to the club.

"He has looked good so far and I think he will add something," said Preece.
