HEREFORDSHIRE’S junior footballers are enjoying a well-earned break after their season came to a close.

And it’s not only Hereford FC, Westfields and Lads Club who have achieved great success on the pitch in the past 12 months; our junior teams have proved football is very much on the up across the county.

During the past few weeks, the Hereford Times have featured pictures of some of the league and cup winners and runners-up.

Among the notable successes, Fownhope Under-13s won the league and cup double and went the whole season unbeaten.

Pegasus Juniors Under-17s also had a great season, losing only one game and securing the league and cup double.

This week, it's the turn of the under-14s, under-15s and under-17s, while the successful Hereford Lads Club Under-14 Vixens also get a mention.

The girls won all of their 14 league games and beat Toros Novillero and Belmont Wanderers in respective cup finals to seal the treble.

The team will now compete in a national tournament in Nottingham this Sunday against other clubs in the country.
