WESTFIELDS chief executive Andy Morris will be part of the FA Cup Final between Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea.

Morris is one of eight people that has been picked by the Football Association to be on the Wembley pitch prior to the iconic anthem Abide with Me being sung.

Westfields became the lowest ranked team left in the competition at the first round stage and are one of eight clubs that the FA have chosen who had standout moments during this season's competition.

"What a wonderful invitation and a fitting end to our 50th Anniversary year," said Morris, who picked up a Lifetime Achievement prize at the Non-League Paper Awards at Chelsea's Stamford Bridge on Wednesday.

"You couldn’t write the script.

"I remember we were two minutes away from getting knocked out of the FA Cup at Stourport on the opening day.

"But that is football and we went on to have another seven games."

Manager Sean Edwards will also attend the showpiece at Wembley on May 27 and said he is looking forward to it.

"I've been lots of FA Cup Finals, including the Hull versus Arsenal one, and when it was held at the Millennium Stadium, I went to all of the finals," said Edwards.

On the pitch, the Westfields management team are preparing for another crack at the Midland Football League title.

Potentially, there could be two promotion spots up for grabs next season due to a new Step 4 league being created for the 2018/19 season.

Edwards said he will be speaking to the current squad following Friday night's presentation evening at Burghill Valley Golf Club.

"We have reviewed what we thought we did well and why it fell away after Christmas," said Edwards.

"I have told the players that I wouldn't talk to them until after the presentation evening because I wanted to make sure that everyone was there that contributed last season.

"We probably need four or five new players for next season because we need good competition for places."

With Worcester City dropping into the division next season, as well as FA Vase semi-finalists Bromsgrove Sporting gaining promotion from Division One, Edwards knows it will again be a tough league to win.

"When you've got a side like Walsall Wood going down, it shows that you've got to be prepared and do things right," said Edwards.

"It's disappointing for the people of Worcester to see them drop that low, but they can take positives from Hereford and how they reformed."
