IT was celebrations all round for the Under-18s at Hereford FC as both the boys and girls got their hands on trophies.

The boys beat Cinderford Town 5-1 on Monday night to clinch the Midland Floodlit Youth League Southern Division title, while the girls had a weekend to remember after winning the Gloucestershire FA League Cup.

The boys finished the season unbeaten with 13 wins from 16 games and were always in control against a Cinderford team who had only win win to their name all season.

Greg Preece had already hit a post before Jamie Davies opened the scoring for Hereford in the ninth minute.

Davies was on hand minutes later to double his side's lead before Preece made it 3-0 in the 22nd minute.

Sam Jessop pulled a goal back for Cinderford shortly after the break, but the Gloucestershire side never looked like troubling Hereford's score.

Harry Franklin restored Hereford's three-goal advantage in the 66th minute, with Ollie Smith wrapping up the win four minutes from time.

The Under-16s also get a chance to win a trophy this Saturday when they compete in the Junior Premier League National Final at Aston Villa's training ground.

The girls' win, meanwhile, came against Forest Green.

Lauren Brown and Sian Bull netted the goals in a 2-1 victory.
