PEGASUS Juniors were at the wrong end of a ten-goal thriller against West Midlands Premier champions Haughmond.

Mid-table Peggy took the game to the leaders with Luke Griffiths netting a hat-trick but were eventually beaten 6-4 at Old School Lane.

The hosts started quickly following a 4-0 victory at Wellington Amateurs in mid-week with Griffiths netting in the opening minute.

Griffiths was in the mood for goals and netted again with 10 minutes played to double his team's advantage.

Haughmond, who have only lost three times this season, responded through Matty Owen before Carlos Moreira gave Peggy a 3-1 lead at half-time.

After the break Haughmond turned on their skill scoring six times for victory, despite Griffiths netting his third in response.

Wellington were involved in a much tighter game against mid-table Black Country Rovers coming from behind to earn a 1-1 draw.

There was little to separate the sides in a close first half with Sam Hunt going closest for Wellington rattling the bar from a free-kick.

The visitors took the lead just before the break with Tobias Archer netting.

Welly probed for an equaliser in the second half and got it on 70 minutes after Will Perkins' header was saved on the line only for Andy Price to finish. The hosts could have clinched all three points with Josh Hunt and Paul Jones going close but they had to settle for a draw.
