KINGTON Town Reserves have given themselves a great chance of finishing second in Division One of the HFA County League after beating leaders Tenbury Town 3-1.

Russell Jones, Daniel Stack and Nicholas Layton scored Kington's goals, which leaves them three points behind second-placed Hereford City with two games in hand.

Holme Lacy Reserves are third but only have three games remaining.

They drew 2-2 with Wellington Colts last Saturday.

At the foot of the division, Orleton Colts Reserves have been relegated, but there is just one point separating the four teams above them.

Ewyas Harold Reserves are currently second-from-bottom after losing 2-1 to Woofferton, with Hinton Reserves, Ledbury Town Reserves and Fownhope Reserves just above them.

Hinton just need three wins from their last five games to win the Premier Division.

The Hereford-based side thrashed Ledbury Town 5-0 last Saturday thanks to two goals from Nick Blackburne and Mike Marsden.

With Pegasus' first-team fixture being called off, a number of their players turned out for the reserves and helped them beat Wellington Reserves 6-3; Tom Boyle grabbing a hat-trick.

Elsewhere, Tenbury United beat Lads Club Reserves 4-2.

Burghill Rangers know they have to avoid defeat against Kingstone Rovers this weekend to ensure the race for the Division Two title goes to the final day.

Last Saturday, Burghill thrashed Shobdon 9-0, while Leominster Reserves overcame Dore Valley 4-3 and Toros saw off Civil Service 3-1.
