NOT many people thought Leicester City would win the Barclays Premier League 12 months ago – but Westfields chief executive Andy Morris did.

The allpay.park chief also correctly predicted Hereford FC would win three trophies in 2016 and Andy Murray would reach the men's singles final at Wimbledon.

Morris' predictions helped him nab joint top spot in the Hereford Times' annual sporting predictions for 2016, with girls' coach Anna Robertson also correctly predicting three questions.

She also said Hereford would win three trophies and Murray would reach the final, as well as correctly predicting England would win the RSB Six Nations.

The pair are defending their title for 2017, with 10 other sports figures across Herefordshire gazing into their crystal ball.

Both Morris and Robertson believe Murray will successfully defend his Wimbledon title, as well as believing that Hull, Swansea and Sunderland will be the three teams relegated from the Premier League, England will win the Six Nations again, India will be the ICC Champions Trophy kings and Lewis Hamilton will get his hands on this year's Formula 1 drivers' championship.

Therefore, it could come down to the bonus point question – what will be the highest attendance at Edgar Street for any game in 2017?

Morris has gone for 4,480, while Robertson believes it will be slightly lower, predicting 4,379.

Bulls captain Joel Edwards has gone for 4,000, while former player Anthony Robbins, who is now the player-manager at Pegasus Juniors, has gone for 4,219.

Elsewhere, Wellington boss Derek Williams has gone for 4,500, Luctonians director of rugby Alex Davidson thinks it will be 4,421 and Hereford RFC captain Luke Yarranton's prediction is for 4,700.

Greyhound player Matt Eden has gone for the highest attendance, believing up to 4,900 fans will pack into Edgar Street at one stage this year.

Edgar Street PA announcer Matt Healey will of course have the task of announcing all of the attendances during 2017 and has gone for 4,402.

Other sporting figures who provided us with their predictions were Herefordshire County Cricket Club chairman of selectors Ian Macklin, darts professional Jim Williams and South Wye Police Boxing Academy coach Vince McNally.

All of them also told us what their hopes and aspirations were for 2017.

See this Thursday's Hereford Times for all the predictions.
