HEREFORD FC acting chairman Chris Williams believes the relationship between the club and Hereford United Supporters Trust (HUST) is very important.

Williams was chairman of HUST until he decided to step down to focus fully on his role at Edgar Street.

Richard Tomkins was reappointed as chairman of HUST at their annual general meeting, with Russell Cheasley and Craig Goodall remaining as vice-chairmen.

"Richard is a very good chairman and I think he understands what we're trying to do and understands how HUST works," said Williams.

"He has a new board now that he can deal with and it is important to have a good fans' organisation.

"We have had a meeting with Richard to discuss various issues with him and we understand what each other is doing and we carry on developing the club to reach the aim of being a Football League club."

Mike Langford has stepped down as treasurer of HUST, but will continue in the role on an interim basis until a new one is appointed.

Andy Carr and Tristan Edwards will remain as board members, while David Evans has been appointed as independent secretary.

Frank Williams is the press officer, with Keith Hall acting as his deputy.

Peter Davies will continue as membership secretary.

Meanwhile, HUST have confirmed that they intend to co-opt Tony Taylor to the board.

Taylor, who lives in Hereford, is a qualified management accountant, secretary and HR manager.

Any member who wishes to object to either appointment should email Richard Tomkins at Richard.Tomkins@hufctrust.co.uk before 5pm on Tuesday.
