WESTFIELDS coach Andy Bevan said he focusing on what his side did against Leiston in the FA Cup.

Bevan's boys upset their higher-graded opponents 2-1 to win a remarkable game at allpay.park and reach the first round proper.

"We had the reports on them and saw video footage, but the biggest part for me was how we played," said Bevan.

"We knew they were going to be decent and we knew there wasn't going to be a weak link that we were going to find.

"We found a couple of things, but to be honest at half time I was disappointed that we weren't believing in ourselves.

"We didn't have the belief, we didn't have the trust, but in the second half, even after the came back into the game, I was quietly confident because I knew we were going to be better and more confident as the game wore on.

"When we look at their chances, they had more shots than we did, but our shape was fantastic and the boys were disciplined.

"Even when the clock was ticking down the minutes were being added on, it didn't really faze me.

"To get to the FA Cup First Round for these guys in their 50th anniversary is very special.

"I'm delighted for Andy [Morris], Sean [Edwards] and all the committee

"To get through is just a dream for the boys."

The win was Westfields' 17th on the bounce in all competitions.

"To win 17 games at any level, even it's at youth, with six of them being in the FA Cup is like, wow," added Bevan.

"It's great for the lads because they deserve all the credit in the world."
