ANTHONY Robbins says he has never been more excited after agreeing to become the new Pegasus Juniors manager.

The central midfielder takes over from James Edmonds, who will now focus on developing the young players at the club.

"The challenge has given me a lot of hunger," said Robbins.

"After leaving Hereford, I was down in the dumps a bit, but I've never been so excited."

Robbins has already been active in the transfer market, bringing ex-Pegasus striker Chris Mortlock back to the club as well as signing Sammy Harrison from Westfields.

He is also brought in Hereford FC youngster Lewis Clarke, as well as former Bull Carlos Moreira from Cinderford Town.

Talks are also ongoing to see if Westfields goalkeeper John Hopkins can be dual registered, while defender Dan Price has agreed to come back after leaving Pegasus earlier this season.

"Chris Mortlock lives in Dudley, so is in the thick of the action with regards to the West Midlands League and travelling to away games," said Robbins.

"He is chomping at the bit to get going.

"I cannot wait to see him playing up front with Cory Hyde again.

"They scored a lot of goals between them and to have those two back in the side will be good."

Robbins added that Harrison struggled to commit to two training sessions a week at Westfields.

"I contacted [Westfields manager] Sean Edwards as soon as I got the job and to be fair to Sean, he was as good as gold," said Robbins.

"He wished me well, as did [Hereford manager] Pete Beadle, who was the first person who called me."

Robbins says his main task is to concede far fewer goals away from home, starting with this Saturday's away FA Vase trip at Ellesmere Rangers.

"We've got to be more solid away from home and shoot up that league," he said.

Pegasus press officer Chris Wells says the club are hugely appreciative of the work Edmonds had done over the past two seasons.

"Jamie worked superbly with the young players that have developed through Pegasus' own youth set up and brought in top quality youngsters to strengthen the team," he said.

"The appointment of Robbo sees a new direction and approach from Pegasus towards the senior squad.

"We will continue to support youngsters through the ranks but hope to offer more appeal to senior players in the coming years.

"The opportunity to appoint a manager with Robbo's potential is rare in Herefordshire and as soon as he was interviewed it was evident he was hungry for the challenge."
