WESTFIELDS captain Phil Glover says that, even though his side have made a great start to the season, they have won nothing yet.

The allpay.park side have scored a hatful of goals thus far, while remaining solid at the back.

But Glover is not getting carried away.

"We've got to take each game and not get carried away," said Glover, who took over from Jamie Cuss as Westfields captain this season.

"It's a great start, don't get me wrong, but we haven't won anything yet.

"There was a bit of worry in preseason because we were shipping goals left, right and centre, but we were confident in the camp that we were going to get it right.

"But it's not only about the back – it's everyone defending from the front.

"We work on it in training every week and everyone is heading in the right direction, which is good.

"After playing Heanor on the Saturday and Stourport on Monday, there were 18 lads down here on Wednesday training, which was a full-on session.

"From July 1 when we started, it's been another level and where everyone wants to be."

Glover is fully aware that not even his place his guaranteed in the team.

"I think we've all missed out – Kane's [Kane Kahaki] sat out, I've sat out and so has Febs [James Febery].

"But everyone is fine with that, we know there's competition for places and that keeps us on our toes.

"That's the way it should be, may be over the last couple of years that hasn't been there."
