HEREFORD FC manager Pete Beadle was delighted his side put in a much better performance today after they thrashed Bridgwater Town 6-0.

The Bulls are top of the pile in Southern Football League Division One South & West with three wins from three.

"The lads were much better today, we looked a bit more fluent and what was nice was we created chances and they never looked like being a threat at the other end," said Beadle.

"I'm not interested in the table right now, I'm just interested that my team perform well, apply themselves with the right attitude and we keep picking up results.

"Let's look at it again in February, March time and, if we're still there then, we're going to give ourselves a good chance."

John Mills scored a hat-trick after returning to the starting line-up, while Mike Symons netted two.

"We try to do what is right for the team to find a balance and today the balance was a little bit better than it was on Tuesday," added Beadle.

"So it's given us food for thought.

"But we know the qualities they both bring to the table.

"John's always going to be a crowd favourite with the goals that he scored last year, but John's also got to add certain things to his game to be part of this team and he knows that.

"He stepped up today and took his goals extremely well."

Ryan Green also returned to the side following knee surgery.

"As it turned out, it couldn't have been a more perfect game for him to play in," said Beadle.

"He knows he will be sore tomorrow, but hopefully he'll be ok for Tuesday."

However, club captain Joel Edwards missed out and started on the bench.

Beadle explained that he felt he needed a rest.

"Joel's played most of pre-season and this season with a couple of constant niggly injuries he's had and because we're demanding so much from everybody and, being club captain, he's probably been trying a bit too hard," said Beadle.

"A little bit of time out from the group will do him the world of good."
