ZAC Sirrell says he doesn't mind playing in West Midlands (Regional) League Division One after linking up with Hereford Lads Club.

The midfielder has played for Westfields and Wellington in his career and even played as high as the Southern Football League Premier Division with Redditch United.

"I've been dropping down a few times now, but it doesn't bother me – I just like playing football and I like the lads," explained Sirrell.

"I'm just happy to enjoy playing again and will just concentrate on this.

"I want to win the league with Lads Club and go up, because they deserve it.

"I went away on holiday and I'm mates with [player-manager] Danny Moon's brother and he said they might be going up.

"So I said I would come and have a look, but they didn't end up going up.

"But I like the craic and thought I would stay and I like the lads here."

Sirrell added that the players are motivated more than ever to gain promotion following their failed appeal.

"They were all frustrated and upset about the appeal, but there's nothing we can do about it now," he said.

"Everyone's just got to knuckle down and hopefully get promotion this year.

"You still get a few negative comments now and again, but we all pulled through and got three points and hopefully now we'll carry on."
