WESTFIELDS go into this Saturday's FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round tie at Stourport Swifts in good form following a promising pre-season campaign.

Sean Edwards' side won four of their six matches, scoring 24 goals in the process.

Their latest success was a 4-0 thumping of Monmouth Town to regain the Dennis Hartland Memorial Trophy on Tuesday night.

Monmouth, from the Welsh League, included former Westfields player Alex O’Leary, while the allpay.park side had two former Town players starting; new goalkeeper Keiron Blackburn and striker Richard Greaves.

Westfields, who included former Hereford FC midfielder Dylan Bonella in their line-up, started well and opened their account thanks to a Jamie Saunston header.

Greaves doubled their advantage after good work from James Baldwin before Jamie Molyneux headed home a third after the break.

Former Redditch United player Molyneux continued his fine form for Westfields by sealing the win thanks a fantastic shot.

Last Saturday, Westfields claimed an impressive 2-1 win at Southern Football League Division One South & West side Slimbridge.

Craig Jones opened the scoring for Westfields from the penalty spot before Adam Mace converted a penalty of his own for Slimbridge.

But Westfields won the game when James Febery prodded home a Jones corner.

Due to the FA Cup starting earlier this season, Westfields don't start their Midland Football League Premier Division campaign until next weekend when they travel to Leicestershire to face St Andrews.
