PLAYER-manager Danny Moon says every game is a "cup final" for Hereford Lads Club as they aim to get promoted from West Midlands (Regional) League Division One.

The city side are two points behind second-placed AFC Ludlow with a game in hand, although the league is set to be shaken up once Bartestree's record is expunged.

Lads Club gained four points against the Herefordshire side, whereas Ludlow only claimed three due to only playing them once.

And Shifnal Town, who are 12 points clear at the top having played two more games than Ludlow, could also have six points wiped off after beating Bartestree twice.

"We just need to keep going because every game is a cup final," said Moon.

"We've got to get a positive result in every game now until the end of the season, because it's all about getting results now.

"We've beaten all the top sides, but, most of the points we have dropped have been against sides down the bottom.

"We're playing every Tuesday and Saturday now until May 7, we've just got to keep going and hopefully do enough."

Lads Club, who go to Kington Town tonight in the League Cup, thrashed St Martins 5-1 away from home last Saturday.

St Martins opened the scoring following some poor marking by Lads Club before Moon equalised.

Dan Herbert then headed home a corner to make it 2-1 before half-time, with Matt Maturi adding another goal after the break.

Kalum Wildig made it 4-1 before Darren Andrews fired home a free-kick to seal the win.

"We should have score more to be fair," added Moon.

"The pitch really suited us."

Kington, meanwhile, thrashed Wrens Nest 6-1.

Geraint Lloyd and Brian Dyer both netted twice, with Liam Jones and Callum Davies also being on target.

The win leaves Kington sixth in the division before a trip to Worcester Raiders this Saturday.

An away derby at Lads Club then awaits the following Tuesday.
