HEREFORD FC defender Jamie Willets talks about what it is like to play for the Bulls after joining from Stourport Swifts.

SINCE joining from Stourport, playing for Hereford FC has been simply surreal.

Considering that I was still playing Sunday morning football only back in August, it makes playing in excess of over two thousand loyal and committed fans at Edgar Street even more overwhelming.

With such a large following extending from all over the world, comes the enormous amount of much appreciated support, something that my social media accounts are also adjusting to.

Having supporters young and old approaching me and asking for autographs and photos is extremely heart-warming, it's what children's dreams are made of when growing up aspiring to become successful footballers.

Deciding to make the move from Stourport to Hereford has been one of the best decisions of my life and a huge part of that is down to the remarkable fan base.

Another noticeable difference that I’ve encountered at Hereford is the team professionalism.

The coaching staff in particular are thoroughly prepared and are extremely knowledgeable.

They've worked hard to make me more comfortable with the ball at my feet as well as improving my defensive shape.

It goes without saying that the players are very determined, they work hard every training session and every match to succeed week in and week out.

Such ambitious and driven mind-sets in the team motivates me as a player to further improve my game, something that I hope to continue doing at Hereford FC for a number of years to come.

From numerous people, I've been told that my signing at this club brought about the winning success that Hereford are currently experiencing, having not lost a single match since joining. As factual as that may be, I cannot agree that I’ve played a huge part in that statistic.

I am only one of sixteen players on a match day, it’s down to every single one of us playing our part and working hard to gain a satisfactory result.

It's evident to see that we are extremely fortunate to have an immensely talented group of players at our disposal and that a monumental run of wins was only ever just around the corner. I’m just grateful that Peter Beadle, Matt Bishop and Jon Hale have given me this opportunity to be a part of the new Hereford FC as I personally believe that this club can go on and have a memorable and hopefully record breaking season.
