WHEN Beads [Pete Beadle] first rang me at the end of last season I was obviously delighted to get the call but I knew it would be a difficult decision leaving Westfields because I got on so well with everyone at the club and was really close with the lads there.

It took me a few weeks to finally make my decision after speaking to a number of older heads for advice, but I knew it came down to whatever I felt was right for me personally.

A major deciding factor was to play under Beads again.

I had a brief spell with him towards the end of the 2013/2014 season with Hereford United.

Even though I was injured for most of that period, I liked the way he done things both on and off the pitch.

Another big factor was the incredible fan base that was already building.

Even though it was a new club, the amount of season tickets sold at that time was amazing and at any level to play in front of so many fans is a fantastic feeling and I couldn't wait to get that back.

After our edgy start, I feel we have done amazing to turn it around because the expectation that was on us was so high.

We have shown great character to turn it around and go on the great run that we are currently on.

Being a fan myself from a young age and playing for Hereford United, the football club has always been a big part of my life so to get the chance to be captain of Hereford FC is a great honour for me.

I know how much the club means to the fans and am fully committed to doing them, my friends and my family proud.

I'm absolutely loving my football and that is so important.

I feel, the more you enjoy it, the more likely you are to succeed.

The main reason is down to the staff and players we have.

Considering it was all completely new at the start of the season, we already have a great team spirit and it’s a pleasure to be part of such a great group.

Fingers crossed our current unbeaten run continues.

Everyone knows all good things have to have come to an end eventually, but we will do our best to keep it going for as long as possible.

Please keep up your incredible support through these tough winter months - you really have been like our 12th man.
