HEREFORD goalkeeper Harvey Rivers says the Bulls are just taking each game as it comes after claiming their 18th consecutive win at the weekend.

The Bulls stopper has not conceded a goal for 851 minutes since a 40-yard effort from Lye Town's James Spray beat him on September 22.

His latest shut-out was against Bardon Hill on Saturday, which Hereford won 2-0.

"I know it's a cliche, but you're never bored of winning games," said Rivers.

"But it's not just about me or the back four, we defend and attack as a team.

"But we are really solid defensively at the moment, which makes me job a bit easier."

Rivers once again had relatively little to down between the sticks at Bardon Hill, but the 19-year-old said he always has to be on his toes.

"Goalkeepers can be quiet for 89 minutes, but have got to be ready in the 90th minute because anything can happen," he said.

"Everyone can have a quiet game in terms of the number of saves they habe to make, but you're always talking to your defenders."

Daniel-Lloyd Weston, who has recently been playing for Frome Town, is still training with Hereford and Rivers says he will never shy away from competition should Hereford manager Pete Beadle bring in a regular back-up keeper.

"Rhys [Evans] and myself have had numerous chats and he is always trying to improve me and make me more sharper," said Rivers.

"At 19, I'm very young in terms of being the number one at the club, but I'm lucky in that I played between 10 and 15 games for Bishop's Cleeve in the league above and played in Conference North for Gloucester.

"After I was at Cheltenham, I knew I needed to play football game, that is how you mature and gain experience."

Two second half goals from John Mills and Mike Symons won the game for Hereford in a match played in less than ideal conditions.

"We knew before the game they were really keen to get the game on because the surface wasn't great, but as we go into the winter months, it is something we will have to get used to because the pitches aren't going to be as good as Edgar Street," added Rivers.

"But, as with the game at Rocester, we have shown a different dynamic to our game and dug out two really good results.

In the first half, Mills dragged an effort wide before Symons saw an effort cleared off the line after Luke Gutteridge saved his initial shot.

Mills then hit a post shortly after the break before the prolific marksman did put Hereford ahead after being set up by Ryan Green.

Symons wrapped the game up with 10 minutes to go after he forced the ball home.
