IT has been quite a week for three new Hereford FC signings.

After Joe Tumelty opened his Bulls account in a 4-0 win against Rocester last Saturday, Mike Symons and Mustapha Bundu both netted in last night's 6-0 hammering of Stourport Swifts.

Symons, who was drafted into the side due to Pablo Haysham serving a one game suspension, stole the headlines with a hat-trick in his first start for Hereford, while Bundu, who joined the club this week, grabbed the sixth.

"I'm really happy to get off the mark, but it's a great shift from the lads and from a team performance, it was excellent," said Symons.

"I missed a good chance at the end, like I did on Saturday, but I was happy to get those goals.

"I was a little bit leggy because I haven't played much in the last month or two, so it was good to get 90 minutes."

Hereford fans have already nicknamed Symons "the beast".

"I don't mind that and I probably get a few chants because of my size," said Symons.

"I don't mind getting the ball into my feet in wide areas, but my main job is to keep possession and help set up the attacks and go forward.

"It was the first time I had played with John Mills and he was unlucky last night, but his work rate was superb.

"I thought, in patches, we linked up well and hopefully that can continue."

Tumelty is a former Hereford United youth player and he said he was delighted to join the new club.

"After the start to the season that they had, when the opportunity came, I couldn't turn it down," said Tumelty.

"For the first game, I was a bit surprised I started because I had not met the lads before and I was expecting to may be come of the bench, so to get chucked straight into it was great and we won, so I can't complain."

Symons opened the scoring against Stourport with a thumping header from Joel Edwards' cross after 24 minutes before he doubled Hereford's advantage with a nice turn and finish seven minutes later.

Rob Purdie made it 3-0 on the hour mark before Symons completed his hat-trick seconds later.

Purdie grabbed his second goal of the night after 78 minutes before substitute Bundu completed the rout eight minutes from time.
