DAVE Cadwallader says he had unfinished business at Bartestree after agreeing to re-join the West Midlands (Regional) League Division One side as manager.

Cadwallader, who masterminded the villagers' rise to the West Midlands set-up, says Bartestree have a good bunch of players, who were just low on confidence.

And despite losing 2-1 to fellow strugglers Bustleholme in his first game back at the helm, Cadwallader saw his troops come from 2-0 down to beat Wem Town 4-3 last Saturday.

"I went to help Dan [Danny Moon] at Lads Club and they were super, but it was hard to knock them [Bartestree] back when they came calling," said Cadwallader.

"We have won three out of five games and arebetter than where we are in the table.

"Some old faces are coming back and I'm looking to bring a couple of other players in.

"I'm trying to get a bit of banter back in the changing room, because some of them have been low in confidence."

Bartestree are up to 14th in the division and with a new 53-seater stand set to be completed by the end of the month, Cadwallader has high hopes his team can finish the season strongly.

"I left for personal reasons, but shouldn't have done really – hindsight is a lovely thing," said Cadwallader.

"The club are having a new stand, so it is nice to see it still progressing."

Bartestree chairman Paul Ingram hopes the stand will be ready in time for the home derby against Lads Club on November 28 before it is officially opened about a month later.

"We hope to get a lot of people coming on the Saturday and bring the youth teams more involved by making them mascots and ball boys," said Ingram.

"The whole set-up is going to be among the best in the county and we want to show that we are an established club that is ready to eventually make the step up to the Premier Division."

Fencing will cover the length of the pitch, added Ingram, with room for an entrance.

Mark Hibbard was Bartestree's hero last Saturday, netting a hat-trick, including two penalties.

Marc Avery grabbed the villagers' other goal, while Luke Brimfield saved a Wem spot-kick.
