TWO players have this week left Hereford FC.

Wingers Sol Wheatley and Ben Miller have been told they are free to find other clubs having left Edgar Street with immediate effect.

Wheatley regularly played in the first team, making 15 appearances, but Miller struggled to get into the starting 11.

The news comes on the back of Hereford signing Joe Tumelty and Mike Symons.

“It’s always a difficult job to tell a player that they are no longer required, but it was that little bit tougher this time considering that both of them have been here since day one," Hereford manager Pete Beadle told the club's official website.

“I’ve told the pair of them that with the way the squad is shaping up now, that they are less likely to be involved, and at their age they should be playing week in week out, not sat on the bench.

“I’ve thanked them for their time and efforts, they always gave 100% and for that I am very grateful. "However, when we bring players in, we must see some make way.

“It is important to the club that we work within the budget that has been set.

"Unfortunately it means we have to say goodbye to two very likeable people.

“I’m sure the fans will join me in thanking the pair of them for their efforts, and also wish them the very best for the future.”
