BARTESTREE assistant boss Jack Davies focused on the positives rather than the negatives after a 2-0 defeat at table-topping AFC Ludlow.

The villagers had Darren Andrews sent off for the second time in six months at Ludlow - but were still in the game until Dale Lewis unluckily deflected in a last-minute cross from Keanu Cooper.

Andrews was lucky not to get a straight red for an horrendously high challenge on Kieran Dovey in the first half, but saw red for a second offence against the same player after the break.

Davies, in charge in the absence of Chris Hayes, said:“We gave away an early goal but we were holding our own until Darren’s sending off.

“Our discipline has been a lot better this season but we still need to work on it. Darren put his hand for the first one but his second yellow was harsh.

“The last three games have been a big improvement after our first four fixtures. We came from 2-0 down to draw the previous week and we need to build on that.”

Kington suffered their first home defeat in the league since last November in losing 2-1 to St Martins - Jordan Cooper on target - but Lads Club chalked up a fifth straight victory in demolishing Worcester Raiders?7-0.

Steve Dixon (2), Kalum Wildig (2), Matt Evans, Matt Maturi and a Danny Hill penalty accounted for their goals.
