A LAST-minute goal by Shawbury United condemned Wellington to defeat in a match that saw three players sent off.

Sam Archer-Plane saw red for Welly, while Shawbury had two players dismissed.

But despite dominating the second half, it was the away side that grabbed all three points that pushes Wellington down to fourth place in the West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division.

Welly went into the game in second position following a 2-0 away win at Dudley Town.

They had early chances through Glen Segust and Paul Jones before Shawbury opened the scoring in the 24th minute.

Just before half-time, Archer-Plane was judged to have pushed a player in the area and a penalty was awarded.

Shawbury duly scored the spot-kick, but the referee told them to re-take it.

Further pushing then ensured, resulting in Archer-Plane and a Shawbury player both being sent off.

The penalty was again dispatched which saw Shawbury open up a 2-0 lead going into the break.

In the second half, Adam Newbury twice went close to scoring before he set Jones free on the left.

Jones in turn passed to man-of-the-match Segust, who beat two defenders before teeing up Matt Williams to score.

Shawbury were reduced to nine men when their right-back was dismissed for fouling Segust before Will Perkins levelled the match with a fantastic free-kick.

Aaron Morgan had a great chance to win the game, but Shawbury broke away to snatch the three points.

Pegasus Juniors are now in 12th place in the division after James Edmonds' side comfortably beat Dudley Sports 3-1 at Old School Lane.

Chris Mortlock opened the scoring for Pegasus in the 16th minute before Luke Williams equalised for the away side shortly into the second half.

But Pegasus regained control after Chris Marshall put the ball into his own neat and Cory Hyde sealed the win with seven minutes to go.

Bromyard Town are third from bottom after they were thrashed 5-0 at home to table-toppers Haughmond.
