ENGLAND captain Keryn Seal has targeted the Tokyo Paralympics in 2020 after his country missed out on a place at next year's Rio Games.

The 33-year-old has already won 101 caps but feels he can carry on for another five years.

"I really want to carry on going," he said.

"Tokyo again is a long-term aim, it's five years away and I'll be 38 then, but I like to think if I can manage my body and keep training hard like I have been the last few years, then I can carry on going and helping this team get there.

"The whole squad as a whole has played some fantastic football at times but we haven't put that together for whole halves of games.

"However, there have been some signs of where this team has come from these last two years.

"There's been six, seven, eight, nine, 10 individuals who have been really positive and we're massively gutted that we haven't got a gold medal."

Seal added that he has been impressed with how the tournament was organised.

"The fact it's been streamed live online is a massive boost to the sport and the team on a whole but I would like to see that some of the young guys who have developed over the last few years have put themselves in the shop window," he said. "People around the world can see them as being great athletes and to the next generation of blind children and their parents they can see what can be achieved with a bit of hard work."

Vice-captain Dan English added that, despite missing out on Rio, England have still made some great strides.

"I think if we take a step back and look at it and see where we've come from in 2013 is a great achievement for all in general," he said.

"We have got quite a young squad and that is only going to get better as we move forward."
