LADS Club deservedly picked up three points against county rivals Kington Town in West Midlands (Regional) League Division One.

It was the Hereford side's first win this season following two defeats while, in contrast, it was newly promoted Kington's first loss.

Lads Club nearly drew first blood when a Josh Pugh cross was cleared out of the box and a 30-yard strike from Danny Hill just cleared the crossbar.

But the home side did take the lead when Scott Turner smashed the ball home after being brilliantly set up by Robert Drag.

Kington soon equalised though when Liam Jones hit his free-kick into the bottom corner of the net.

But that was as good as it got for the away side and it was Lads Club who upped the ante.

A free-kick by Danny Moon was played wide to Jamie Cuthbertson, who cut inside and unleashed a cross-shot which was well saved by Kington goalkeeper Zeke Vivian.

The rebound fell to Drag, but his shot was deflected wide.

Jay Maygothling then had a chance to score from a header from a Liam Jones cross but his headed wide.

Lads Club then went in front before the break when Moon dispatched a penalty that was awarded after Brian Dyer brought down Tom Harding.

Kington started the second half stronger than Lads Club and saw an Alec Winstone deflected effort bring out a fine save from Steven Bell.

Lads Club's frustration started to tell with Harding and Jordan Burke both getting booked.

But they managed to contain it and had chances on goal before they went 3-1 up after Drag pulled the ball back for Kalum Wildig to finish with a volley.

Drag then sealed the game when he expertly lobbed the ball over a stranded Vivian.

Bartestree, meanwhile, are second from bottom following a 4-2 home defeat against Team Dudley.

The villagers have lost their opening three games and travel to eighth-placed Shifnal Town this Saturday.
