WELLINGTON have lost both of their opening games of this season's West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division campaign.

Derek Williams' side lost 3-1 at Wolverhampton Sporting Community on Saturday before succumbing to a 2-1 home defeat against Wellington Amateurs on Tuesday.

Wellington defended well in the first half against a good Wolverhampton team, who had plenty of pace.

And it was the away team who broke the deadlock when a good run from Paul Jones set up Steve Brotherwood to side-foot home.

But Wellington conceded two quick goals in the second half, which included a penalty, and were unable to recorder.

Ben Thomas and Andy Price both went close to equalising but it was Wolverhampton who scored next to seal the game.

Jones was also on target on Tuesday night, but again he could not help his team to victory.

Wellington will be hoping to bounce back this Saturday when they entertain Stone Old Alleynians, who have also lost their opening two games.

The villagers then travel to county rivals Pegasus Juniors three days later in an early derby encounter.

Bromyard Town, meanwhile, came back down to earth on Tuesday night after opening their Premier Division campaign with a win.

Nick Smith's men beat Stone, who were promoted alongside them last season, 1-0.

But they were humbled 4-0 at Gornal Athletic three days later.
