THE champagne is on order for bubbling Kington Town as go into their penultimate fixture of a memorable campaign at AFC Worcester Olympic tomorrow night.

With promotion all but secured - only a series of freak results could deny them - Kington travel to bottom-of-the-table Worcester knowing that victory could also wrap up the West Midlands (Regional) League Division Two title, depending on the outcome of the promotion showdown between Darlaston and FC Stafford.

Shaun Harris's side, who finish at Oakengates Athletic on Saturday, stretched their unbeaten six-month league run to 21 games on Bank Holiday Monday when Brian Dyer's first-half header secured a 1-0 win - their fifth away victory on the trot - at Tipton Youth.

Last Tuesday Kington came from behind to win 3-1 at Warstone Wanderers, a game that embraced a 15-minute floodlight failure early in the second period and a spectacular late goal from inside his own half from talented left-back Jordan Cooper.

Joe Mayglothing and leading scorer Aaron Hodge were Kington’s other marksman and Hodge’s brother Dale then bagged a brace on Saturday, a header and a stylish finish around the home keeper, in a 2-0 triumph at Powick Rangers.
