GOALS from Sam Pearson and Ben Price saw Pegasus Juniors beat strugglers Shifnal Town 2-1 in West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division on Tuesday night.

Pearson opened the scoring after three minutes when he lobbed the home goalkeeper before Price doubled the advantage in the second half.

Shifnal pulled a goal back, but Pegasus held on for the win that takes them within two points of county rivals Wellington with two games in hand.

Meanwhile, Bartestree are one game away from playing at Villa Park after they advanced to the semi-finals of the Division 1 Cup.

Chris Hayes' team beat Trysull 4-2 on penalties following a 0-0 draw after extra-time.

The final will be played at Aston Villa's home ground to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the West Midlands League.
