A TABLE football champion from Hereford will represent Great Britain at the World Championships in Turin, Italy, writes SAUL COOKE-BLACK.

Sarah Brice, who has won over 50 caps for Britain, won the UK Championship in both the women’s singles and doubles categories in February to qualify for the event.

Brice, who competes at the Barrels, still holds the record as the youngest female champion after winning the doubles with her sister Louise in 2004 aged 17.

She started playing the sport at a party and was so young that her father used to give her a box to stand on.

Since then she has represented Britain across the world and has taken on footballers such as Steven Gerrard and Daniel Sturridge, as well as challengers at Wembley Arena.

Barrels Table Football Club team also made it through to the National League Finals for the first time, after they qualified by winning the Regional League Finals for the South West.

The club entered two teams for the tournament in February, but did not make it through the group stage.

The Barrels club holds `Draw Your Partner` competitions, open to all abilities, every second Tuesday of the month, with the next competition on April 14.
