WELLINGTON manager Derek Williams knows his team will be up against it when they face Westfields in the final of the HFA County Challenge Cup final on Monday.

Key players Aaron Morgan and Ben Fischer are both injured, while Paul Jones is struggling to get match fit.

Matt Aubrey, who has been playing up front for the villagers recently, is cup-tied and Jamie Yau and Luke Winter have got hamstring injuries.

But Williams said his team are looking forward to the showpiece at Pegasus Juniors’ Old School Lane ground and will aim to upset the odds-on favourites.

“They win it pretty much every year and are obviously the highest-placed team in the county,” said Williams.

“We have been struggling lately with injuries to our strikers and know we need to play above ourselves and for Westfields to have an off day.”

Both teams play this Saturday, with Wellington hosting Bilston Community Sporting and Westfields travelling to Continental Star.

Williams says his team have struggled with the amount of games they have played lately.

“This week was the first time we haven’t had a midweek game in a long time,” he said.
