CHRIS Hyde is set to step down as manager of Pegasus Juniors at the end of the season.

Hyde said there was a verbal agreement that he would be in charge of the Old School Lane side for two years when he took on the job, the end of which is approaching.

"Im not 100 per cent leaving, especially if they can't find anyone, but I said right from the offset that I would just do two years," said Hyde.

"The club need to look at planning for next year and people need to make the people at the club aware that they are interested in the job.

"The main reason why I'm leaving is that I need a fourth back operation.

"I was a substitute last Saturday, but luckily we didn't have any injuries so I didn't have to come on."

Pegasus have struggled to match last season's exploits that saw them finish with 100 points in West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division, just a point behind leaders Lye Town.

Leading marksman Cory Hyde has been injured all season, while Chris Mortlock has only recently returned to the club.

"We are disappointed that we are mid-table, but we kind of created a monster last season by finishing second with 100 points.

"We're never going to do that again because we haven't got a budget."

Pegasus lost 1-0 at Dudley Sports last Saturday that leaves them 12th in the division.

One place above them are Wellington, who thrashed Willenhall Town 4-1.

Matt Aubrey opened the scoping after being set up by Ben Fischer before Fischer went through on goal to double the lead.

Andy Price saw two efforts saved on the line before Ben Thomas Thomas smashed the ball home to make it 3-0 before Aubrey chipped the Willenhall goalkeeper from 30 yards to score a fantastic fourth.

Willenhall did pull back a goal, but it was merely a consolation.
