KINGTON Town maintained top-spot in the West Midlands (Regional) Division Two with an excellent 4-1 win over Powick Rangers.

Aaron Hodge led the way, with Joe Maygothling and Ricky Dyer also getting on the scoresheet.

Powick started brightly, but the home side withstood the early pressure and broke the deadlock when Hodge latched onto a pass from his brother Dale.

Dale Hodge once again turned provider for his brother shortly afterwards, with Aaron Hodge firing home at the back post.

It was Hodges’ last action of the game as he was withdrawn shortly afterwards through injury.

Mayglothing grabbed a third goal via a deflection before Dyer added a fourth from close range to wrap up a high-scoring first half.

There were limited chances for the home side in the second half, with Brian Dyer and Nick Evans going close.

Powick then grabbed a late consolation goal with the last attack of the game.

“It was another solid performance and another three points,” said Kington manager Shaun Harris.

“We’re all pleased with the result, but we know that there’s a long way to go.

Kington lead second-placed Stafford on goal difference.

In Division One, Bromyard racked up their 15th win of the season with a 4-2 victory over Stone Old Alleynians that helped extend their lead at the top of the table, while Bartestree lost to the only goal of the game against Shenstone Pathfinders.
