FLOODLIGHT failure saw Pegasus Juniors' away game at Wednesfield abandoned – with the Hereford side leading 4-0.

Sam Pearson had grabbed a hat-trick, with Chris Mortlock adding another in the West Midlands (Regional) Football League Premier Division match.

But one of the floodlights went out with 22 minutes to go and the referee called off the game.

Pegasus, who saw their match at Haughmond postponed last Saturday, will be aiming carry on their recent good form when they host Shifnal Town this weekend.

It was better news for Wellington though as Steve Brotherwood scored a dramatic extra-time winner against Bewdley Town in the second round of the League Cup.

The match was switched to Wellington, but it was Bewdley who scored first.

Matt Aubrey levelled with 20 minutes to go to set up an extra 30 minutes.

Brotherwood's last minute free-kick won it for Welly, who now face Bridgnorth in the quarter-finals.
