HEREFORD United in the Community's under-18 team narrowly lost to league leaders Plymouth Argyle yesterday in their latest PLFL match.
Rob Purdie's team strugggled in the opening 30 minutes and found themselves 2-0 down.
Plymouth were then awarded a penalty, but UITC goalkeeper Ben Pugh pulled off a fantastic save to keep his side in the game.
That save proved to be crucial as Hereford got back into the match through a brilliant free-kick from Carlos Moreira.
Hereford then dominated proceedings but a lapse in concentration saw Plymouth score a third goal.
Liam Taylor did pull a goal back with a fine individual goal 10 minutes from time, but Plymouth held on for the win.
The match was played on a 3G pitch at Dyson Perrins Academy in Malvern due to Victoria Park's pitch being unplayable.
