ZAC Sirrell marked his return to Westfields in the best possible way by rescuing them a point at Alvechurch in Midland Football League Premier Division on Tuesday night.

Sirrell returned from a month at Redditch and scored from 20 yards with 15 minutes left after coming on as a substitute.

Westfields dominated the first half and had great opportunities to score through Jamie Cuss, Tom Boyle, Marcus Palmer and Matt Reeve.

Harvey Rivers also made a great double save to deny Alvechurch as the fist half ended goalless.

But the Worcestershire side were quick off the mark after the break and opened the scoring.

Sirrell, Tom Bendall and Luke Griffiths then all came off the bench and it was Sirrell who grabbed the equaliser.

Westfields are still in eighth place in the league table and visit Causeway this Saturday.

Last weekend, Sean Edwards' side beat Rocester 2-0 thanks to goals from Cuss and Craig Morgan.
