A TOP-half finish in the West Midlands Premier Division is still possible according to Wellington top-scorer Aaron Morgan.

The villagers are currently 14th in the league having finished in the top half last season and Morgan still believes they are better than the position they are in.

“We finished 10th last year and we wanted to push on to the top six," said Morgan.

“At the start of the season we did really well but, from the fifth game of the season onwards, we struggled.”

The club lost 5-1 in their last league game at Sporting Khalsa but Morgan doesn’t believe they are going to be in relegation trouble this year.

He said: “I don’t think we’re in a relegation dog-fight - there are teams above us whom we should beat so a top-half finish is definitely possible.”

Wellington Reserves are doing well in the Hereford Times Herefordshire Premier and Morgan believes this can only be good for when they step up to the first team.

“The boys from the Herefordshire Premier side do well to step up when asked and they’ve a few good players," he said.

“Hopefully more of them want to play for us when needed.”
