WELLINGTON top scorer Aaron Morgan admits he does feel the pressure to score the goals as the side's only fit striker.

The 24-year-old has scored eight goals this season including one against Bolehall in the FA Vase last weekend but feels he could do more to help the team.

“I suppose there is more pressure on me as the team’s only striker since Saul Thomas’ injury," he said.

“I did score a few goals last year, but I’m pleased to score a few this season.

“I think I could help out the team a bit more by holding up the ball to help relieve the pressure on the defence.”

The one club man got a goal and an assist in their dramatic defeat to Bolehall and could have had a goal or two more.

He said: “I’m quite happy with the goal and the assist, it was a good header from Luke (Winter).”

Morgan grew up in the village and has played for the club at all age levels but cannot see himself leaving the club.

“I’m here for good now I think," said the striker.

“I can see why some players want to go to the likes of Westfields but I’m happy here.”

Manager Derek Williams was please with the contribution the stand-in captain made.

He said: “He’s very important to us, he was captain today and I think he gave a captain's performance.”
