TEN man Pegasus Juniors lost by a single goal in a tight contest at Ellesmere Rangers.

The visitors were ten minutes away from securing a valuable point in the West Midlands League Premier Division clash when Rangers notched the winning goal.

By that time the Hereford side had been reduced to ten men when Matty Evans was given his marching orders for two bookings.

Both sides had to contend with a hailstorm late in the game as Peggy searched for an equaliser but Ellesmere held firm.

This Saturday, Pegasus entertain fellow mid table outfit Shawbury United.

Meanwhile, a first half hat trick from Aaron Morgan helped Wellington beat Smethwick Rangers to cement their mid-table position.

The home side saw off a late comeback from the Black Country outfit to win 3-2.

Morgan fired the home side into the lead on eight minutes with a powerful drive from just outside the box.

His second goal followed the move of the match involving Josh Hunt, Dave Price and Ben Fischer, before Morgan completed his hat trick just before the break.

In the second half, Smethwick forced Wellington goalkeeper Chris Mancui into a number of fine saves, but he couldn't keep out two strikes which brought Rangers back into the game.

Hunt almost extended the lead late on but his chip came back off the bar.
