WELLINGTON Rangers smashed an astonishing seven goals past Pegasus Reserves to maintain their grip at the top of the Hereford Times Herefordshire League Premier Division.

Ryan Daw led with the way with a hat-trick, with Nick Britton (two), Glenn Segust and John Buchanon adding to the rout.

Pegasus went into the game with a 100 per cent record, but they had no answer to the Wellington onslaught, who earned the Hereford Times performance of the week award.

In the only other league encounter of the day, Tenbury United beat Ross Juniors 4-0, with goals coming from Dale Withers (two), Aaron Morris and Ian Patterson.

In the Premier League Cup, Westfields Reserves came out top in the local derby with Lads Club Reserves with an emphatic 6-3 win.

Tom Bendall and George Worswick both grabbed a brace, with Cameron McNally and Mark Davis also getting on the scoresheet.

Lads Club's scorers were Clive Symonds, Rhys Davies and Scott Bruton.

Hinton progressed to the next round following a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Orleton Colts at Broomy Hill.

Hinton's winner came from substitute Neil Walmsley.

With Bromyard on HFA Junior Cup duty, Ledbury Colts took the opportunity to move to the top of Division One with a convincing 4-0 win against Wellington Colts.

Jamie Gladwin, Jamie Welch, Scott Brown and Tom Skittery grabbed Ledbury's goals.

Bartestree Reserves secured their first point of the season with a 2-2 draw against Hinton Reserves, while Fownhope Reserves came out top in a nine-goal thriller with Woofferton by winning 603.

In Division Two, Sinkums moved ominously to the top of the pile by beating Weobley 3-1by three goals to one, while Tenbury Town also secured the same scoreline against Kingstone Rovers.

Kington Town Reserves beat Hereford City 5-1.

In Division Three, the topsy-turvy results of recent weeks continued with Dore Valley overcoming previously undefeated Tupsley 6-1.

Belmont Wanderers stay top after beating Ledbury Colts 2-1, while Northwood Rangers drew 1-1 with Shobdon and Leominster Town Reserves beat Weston 2-1.

Meanwhile, the HFL are sad to report the sudden death of Derrick Blake, who served Civil Service as president, chairman, secretary, manager and player.
