PEGASUS Juniors are still striving for their best form after suffering a 4-0 West Midlands League Premier Division reverse against Gornal Athletic.

The city side, who finished in runners-up position last year, have made a patchy start to the season and were comfortably beaten by a side which was relegated from the Midland League Premier Division at the end of last season.

Drenz Bala put the visitors ahead even though a linesman had an offside flag raised and their second game when a shot from Rion Francis-Mills deflected over the head of goalkeeper Nathan Phillips.

Chris Mortlock was out of luck with a near-post volley which hit the side-netting just before the break but Gornal pushed on in the second period and Bala and Francis-Mills both added a second goal to their individual tally.

In Division One, Bromyard Town continued their perfect start and moved to the top of the table with a comprehensive 6-2 success against previous leaders Worcester Raiders.

Bartestree, however, are still without a win and suffered their third defeat in four outings when they were beaten 2-0 at Bustleholme.

Wolverhampton United inflicted a first Division Two defeat on Kington Town when they beat the Herefordshire side 2-0.

Kington make their home debut on Saturday when they entertain FC Stafford.
