KINGTON Town handed their manager Shaun Harris the perfect wedding gift with three points on their return to West Midlands League action.

Jordan Cooper's late goal ensured a winning start for Town on their return to Division Two with a 1-0 win at Sikh Hunters to spark an early start to the celebrations for Harris who flies out to Greece to get married later this week.

Cooper struck 15 minutes from time, after assistance from Jordan McQueen and Marco Parry, rounding the Hunters' keeper before firing past a defender on the line.

Kington achieved a creditable result as they were weakened by injuries and lack of availability.

Cooper had missed a couple of good opportunities in the first period before making amends with his decisive goal.

"This season's going to be tough but we've started as we wanted," said Harris. "We had players out but everyone out there impressed and we were solid as a team."

In Division One, Dan Herbert continued his prolific start to the season with two more goals for Bartestree & Lugwardine after four the previous week.

On this occasion, however, there was no reward for his efforts with the villagers going down 3-2 at Wrens Nest.

Bromyard Town are second in the table after beating Team Dudley 4-0.

But Lads Club suffered a defeat, going down 4-1 at home to early season divisional leaders Worcester Raiders.

And Ledbury Town were also beaten 2-1 at home by Shenstone Pathfinders.
