MORE than 160 people attended the celebratory dinner at the Richmond Club to recognise the 50th anniversary of Civil Service FC.

All decades were represented with several founder members in attendance.

Ex players travelled from all over the UK with one, Mick Robinson flying in from Spain.

Guests included Andy and Sandra Morris( Westfields)- Andy had given the club a lot of help in staging the Dave Gilbert memorial tournament.

Representing the referees was John Bufton and Mick Shaw accompanied by wife Marie.

The HFL was represented by treasurer/secretary Pete Stead with his wife, Mandy; Stead is a former player and manager of Civil Service.

Also attending were Jim and Val Lambert (HFA).

Speeches were made by Pete Stead, Brian Weekes (CSFC chairman), Andy Leonard (player-manager) and Jim Lambert HFA) who proposed a toast to the club.

The HFA also presented the club with a commemorative plaque which was received on behalf of CSFC by Terry Calder, who takes over as manager next season, enabling Andy Leonard to concentrate on playing.

Jamie Jones was player of the year, while Terry Calder took the clubman award.

There was a surprise for Brian Weekes who received an award in recognition of serving the club for 48 years; the award was presented by Emily Morgan, daughter of club legend Dave Gilbert.
