WESTFIELDS gained a hard-earned win from a Midland Alliance 4-3 win over visiting Heather St Johns which ended in controversy.

Both sides finished with nine men after Alex O'Leary, Brad Birch and two visiting players were dismissed in the final minute.

Phil Glover clipped in a free-kick from Craig Jones after four minutes and former Bull Jones added the second with a fierce drive four minutes later.

Chris Waldrum pulled a goal back for St Johns but Josh Riis finished off a fine move to give Fields a 3-1 half-time lead.

Aidan Thomas's fine pass set up Jamie Cuss to extend the lead early in the second half.

But Troy Wallen and Hayden Johns scored for the visitors as Westfields held on.

Pegasus Juniors, who face Westfields in the final of the HFA County Challenge Cup next month, are back up to fourth in the West Midlands League Premier Division after a 5-0 win at Bustleholme.

Cory Hyde scored twice, one of them coming from the penalty spot, with the others coming from Kane Kahaki, Jack Lewis and Anthony Robbins.
