HEREFORD Racecourse gets festive next week with their Christmas Jumper Raceday.

Monday's afternoon fixture will be the final one for the year at the course and, to get racegoers into seasonal spirit, there will be prizes on offer for the best Christmas Jumpers on show.

There is also a host of other fun attractions and activities planned for all the family alongside the seven jump races.

Tickets start from £16.50 if booked in advance and under 18s are free.

In addition to special rates for groups of 10 or more for £14.40, there is a Christmas cracker package deal, which includes a hot turkey and stuffing roll, mince pie and glass of winter Pimm's punch for £26.

And for visitors keen to enjoy a three-course meal and a panoramic view of the finishing line from their table, there are also limited spaces left in the Rusty Bridge Restaurant.

"Since we opened the gates for the first time in four years back in October, we’ve been delighted with the response and the amount of people who have come racing," said Rebecca Davies, executive director at Hereford Racecourse.

"This is the first time we will be racing in the school holidays so it will be great to welcome people of all ages to the course as the excitement builds for Christmas."
