BROCKHAMPTON had to endure further weatherrelated frustration but still remain on course for a topfour finish in the Birmingham League Premier Division.

The villagers remain in fourth place, just a point behind third-placed Berkswell, despite having both of their scheduled Bank Holiday weekend fixtures badly affected by rain.

Berkswell should have been their opponents at The Parks on Saturday but a torrential downpour just before the scheduled start and another two hours later put paid to any hopes of getting play under way.

On Monday, the villagers were handily placed in their match at Knowle & Dorridge when the rain returned and ended any prospect of a positive result.

Dave Exall (61) and Ben Stebbings had again batted well for Brockhampton as, with support from Adam Hewlett (24), Jonny Walker (22) and Oliver Davey (14), the villagers reached 212-8 from their 50 overs.

The hosts had only just begun their response and were on 24-1 when the heavens opened again.

Despite being unable to finish either of their games in Division Two, Eastnor still remain clear of the rel- egation places. On Saturday, at Brewood, they were probably glad of the curtailment as they were placed precariously at 46-5, despite 21 from Mohammed Adeel and 16 from skipper Clive Chadhani, when play was washed out.

Matters scarcely looked like improving on Monday against Cannock when Jabran Khalid was dismissed by the first ball of the game after Eastnor had been put in.

Two more quick wickets followed but Atiq Ur Rehman (84 not out) and Faisal Khalid (48) shared a century stand to get the score moving and Shahid Ahmed (24no) was going well when rain ended play with six overs of the Eastnor innings still to be bowled.
