Saeed replaces Oliver as new Bromyard skipper

ALL-ROUNDER Zahid Saeed has been appointed firstteam skipper at Bromyard.

Saeed returns to the role, replacing Edd Oliver, who held the position for two years. Oliver will be Saeed’s deputy in 2012.

At the club’s annual meeting, chairman Ash Bullock reported many highlights, including Clubmark accreditation and the start of their “Chance to Shine” scheme.

He also praised the club’s under-13 team who won the Herefordshire League.

The first team finished fifth in Division One of the Worcestershire League and the seconds gained promotion from 2nd XI Division Three.

Sri Lankan overseas star Dinusha Fernando won a hat-trick of awards in the club’s end-of-season annual dinner at Flagonners Green.

Fernando snapped up the first-team batting award, best away display and a cup for having hit the most sixes during the season.

Third team batting: Jeff Bayliss; Third team bowling: Dave Harris; Catching Cup: Dan Mills; Clubman of the Year: Ash Bullock;

Fill It Up Cup: Chris Graham; Most Promising Young Player: Ian Bullock; Most Improved Young Player: Greg Leighton.
