Goodrich had a mixed year to celebrate when they held their annual awards dinner at The Old Court, Whitchurch.

Things had begun well at the start of the year with the club winning the Herefordshire indoor cricket plate and then, during the outdoor season, the first team finished third in the GB Liners Marches League Division 1 and were runners-up in the Marches Cup.

But there was also disappointment with the second team being relegated from a strong Marches League Division 2.

The club were forced to pull out of the under-13 league at the start of the campaign due to a lack of players.

But with the help of some more coaches training at the club and visits to local schools, the season finished with many more young players training at the ground.

This has led to hopes that a resurrected under-13 side will be competing next season and, for the first time at Goodrich, there are also nearly enough youngsters for an under-11 team.

But the highlight of the season was the gaining of Clubmark status.

This project had been championed by Eddy Pyatt who, with the help of Tony Beddard and Andy Evans, put the structures in place to enable Goodrich to gain this national award.
