COLWALL will finish in the top three in Division 2 of the Worcestershire County League after they gained a winning draw over Monmouth on their Ghost Meadow pitch. Monmouth finished on 245-6 in reply to the home side’s 294-8.

They are likely to miss out on the championship, however, as Coombs Wood won their game, and now need just three points from their final game to lift the title.

Tom Coleman (32), Odge Davey (84), Nick Panniers (70) and Sam Crichard (29) took full advantage of the favourable batting conditions.

Ben Wheeler (31) kept the momentum going and Monmouth faced a stiff target at tea-time.

Damien Berry took the first three Monmouth wickets, but Paul Swingwood (44) started a revival, and an unbroken partnership between Jon Jones (57) and Jon Roberts (59) completed it.

Burghill & Tillington pulled off a two-wicket win at bottom side Kidderminster.

Will Treloar took 6-28 off 13 overs to help restrict the home side to 176-9 before tea.

There were a few nervous moments before John Terry (43) and Treloar (12no) eased them home with 11 overs to spare.

The Wormelow batsmen were in top form at the Kennel Field, posting 291-7.

Visiting Belbroughton held on at 239-9 in a tense finish.

Tom Bevan (72), Ben Owens (43) and Tim Boulter (83) led the way with the bat, while Shaun Waldron (4-60) and Will Cass (3-46) bowled well.

Greg Leighton starred with bat and ball in Bromyard's easy 134-run Division 1 win at Droitwich. Opening the batting, he top-scored with 83 as Bromyard made 224-5, and followed up with 4-22 to help bowl the Worcestershire side out for just 90.
